My own Darling, The case comes off tomorrow at 10.30am so I will write the result by that afternoons mail. I am rather looking forward to it. I got your letter yesterday but I hadn't a second all day so didn't write. These are quite good billets but the country round is all plough and there are few fields to play football or anything in. I went to a concert yesterday and church today. George Abercrombie's brother joined us yesterday and a cavalry fellow called Manu. I was offered a Ks Army Batt. the other day but of course refused it but don't say this as I found out unofficially and they called it confidential. The Honours list was rather more awful than usual Victor got something which I am very glad of as he did well but most of the others are employed at the base. How do you feel darling I hope you are getting stronger and better. It is splendid Herbert putting on weight like that has he got any muscle yet? I saw doves nesting today so spring can't be far off. I hope we will get up to Ross Dhu before all leave is stopped. The idea now seems to be that we are not going out for two months but just going to carry on with ordinary trench duties but no one seems to know. We played the Coldstream officers at football yesterday and beat them. There is a letter from Meat Lowther in my writing case signed 'Cecil Lowther' you might send it out in your next letter. The writing case was in the drawing room near the fire place. Darling I hope you will be able to go on nursing McArthur as it is so good for him, all my love Sweetheart and write as often as you can, goodbye Darling,
