My Darling Di, Your letter of Monday has just arrived it was nice and long and I loved getting it, the parcel hasn't arrived yet, they take slightly longer. This is the day of Kak's marriage I hope everything goes off all right and that she got Olivers and my wire. Do you think she will be as frightened as someone else tonight? We go into the trenches tomorrow evening for 2 days they ought to be pretty dry as the weather has been good lately. Everyone here thinks the Germans will attack us in spring as they have started massing troops already. I only hope they do as they can't get through and will lose an awful lot of men. If Guy hasn't started yet I don't think he'll come for some time as both Batt's are full up. They sent a few shells into this place this morning and I saw 3 women and 5 children (there are still a few civilians in the place) come running across the fields as hard as they could go it was very funny. Bewick, Dick Bethell and Clarke Jervoise have just arrived. Bewick comes to my company it's rather a bore as it blocks up the billets so. Sweetheart I'm delighted that you can get up and be on the sofa. You'll get better very quickly now N.B. will set you up in no time. Your father must feel Kak's marriage very much tell him how sorry I am; I must write to him. I may not be able to write for the next 2 days so you will understand if you don't get a letter. Sweetheart I wish I was with you tonight I am longing to see you again: Are you looking pretty darling I will buy you tons of clothes when I get back. Goodbye Beloved all my love and a thousand kisses,
